Fertility Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Natural Fertility and Assisted Reproductive Support

Every fertility journey is different.

Some women are trying to conceive naturally. Others may be going through medicated cycles, timed intercourse, IUI, IVF, or embryo transfer.

At ASA Acupuncture & Wellness, we create a personalized treatment plan based on your menstrual cycle, symptoms, health history, fertility test results, and current medical treatment.

Our goal is to support your reproductive health while helping you feel more informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout your fertility journey.

How Can Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Support Fertility?

Depending on your individual needs, fertility acupuncture and Chinese medicine may help support:

  • More regular menstrual cycles

  • Healthy ovulation

  • Blood circulation to the pelvic area, uterus, and ovaries

  • The follicular and luteal phases of the menstrual cycle

  • A healthy uterine environment

  • Menstrual cramps, PMS, and other cycle-related discomfort

  • Stress, anxiety, sleep, and nervous system balance

  • Digestion, energy, and overall wellness

  • Male reproductive health, including sperm count and motility

Acupuncture does not replace care from an OB-GYN or reproductive endocrinologist.

When additional testing or medical treatment is needed, we may recommend that you follow up with your doctor or fertility clinic. This may include blood tests, ultrasound monitoring, medication management, fallopian tube testing, semen analysis, or other fertility evaluations.

Fertility Concerns We Commonly Support

Patients often come to us for support with:

  • Irregular menstrual cycles

  • Cycles that are too long or too short

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS

  • Endometriosis-related symptoms

  • Painful periods

  • Irregular or absent ovulation

  • Unexplained infertility

  • Secondary infertility

  • Recurrent miscarriage or pregnancy loss

  • Thin uterine lining concerns

  • Stress and anxiety related to trying to conceive

  • Medicated or timed-intercourse cycles

  • IUI preparation

  • IVF stimulation and egg retrieval

  • Support before and after embryo transfer

  • Low sperm count or reduced sperm motility

Fertility concerns can have many possible causes. We encourage patients to complete appropriate medical testing and fertility evaluation when needed.

Your Personalized Fertility Plan

During your first visit, we take time to learn about your:

  • Menstrual cycle and period symptoms

  • Ovulation signs and tracking results

  • Hormone tests and other bloodwork

  • Ultrasound findings

  • Pregnancy and miscarriage history

  • Current or previous fertility treatments

  • Medications, herbs, and supplements

  • Sleep, stress, and emotional health

  • Digestion, appetite, and bowel movements

  • Fatigue, pain, cold hands and feet, and other symptoms

After reviewing this information, we create a treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Approach

Chinese medicine does not use the same fertility treatment for every patient.

We look at your menstrual cycle, symptoms, overall health, and individual body pattern. Treatment may be adjusted as your cycle and health change.

When appropriate, your plan may include Chinese herbal medicine and other Traditional Chinese Medicine recommendations.

Herbal medicine is not suitable for everyone. Patients using fertility medications, preparing for egg retrieval, or undergoing embryo transfer should tell both their fertility specialist and Chinese medicine practitioner about all herbs, supplements, and medications they are taking.

How Long Does Fertility Acupuncture Take?

There is no single treatment timeline that works for everyone.

For natural conception support, many patients choose to receive treatment for at least three full menstrual cycles.

Patients with irregular cycles, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, age-related concerns, or more complex fertility issues may benefit from a longer treatment period.

For patients working with a fertility clinic, treatment frequency may change depending on the stage of the cycle.

Some patients receive weekly acupuncture. Others may schedule additional treatments around:

  • Ovulation

  • IUI

  • Egg retrieval

  • Embryo transfer

After your first visit, we will discuss a treatment schedule based on your goals, cycle, health history, and fertility clinic timeline.

Postpartum Acupuncture, Recovery, and Pain Care

After childbirth, the body needs time to rest, heal, and regain strength.

A mother’s recovery, pain, sleep, energy, and emotional well-being is very important.

We provide personalized postpartum acupuncture, Chinese medicine support, and pain treatment based on your delivery, stage of recovery, breastfeeding status, and current symptoms.

  • Postpartum and “sitting the month” recovery

  • Fatigue, weakness, and low energy

  • Milk supply and breastfeeding support

  • Poor sleep, stress, and emotional changes

  • Neck, shoulder, upper-back, and lower-back pain

  • Wrist, arm, and shoulder pain from feeding or carrying the baby

  • Pelvic, hip, tailbone, and sciatic-area discomfort

  • Digestion, appetite, constipation, and overall recovery

Postpartum neck pain, back pain, pelvic pain, and wrist pain do not always need to be silently tolerated.

Timely acupuncture, pain care, and body support may help reduce discomfort, restore energy, and make breastfeeding, carrying your baby, and daily activities more comfortable.

While caring for your baby, remember to care for yourself as well. When mothers feel stronger and more comfortable, they are better able to enjoy this important stage with greater confidence and energy.
